Abstrak
This study aims to examine the role of Aqidah Akhlak teachers in shaping students' independent and creative character at MTs Asa’adah Gunung Sugih. The issue highlighted in this background is the lack of independence and creativity among seventh-grade students, as indicated by their dependence on teachers' guidance in learning, habitual cheating, and lack of confidence in asking questions and expressing opinions. This condition demands the role of Aqidah Akhlak teachers in fostering students' independent and creative character through more effective learning approaches. This study employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques consisting of observations and interviews with the head of the madrasa, Aqidah Akhlak teachers, and seventh-grade students as the main informants. To enhance data validity, this study applies triangulation techniques, including source triangulation, which compares information from various informants, and methodological triangulation, which confirms observational findings with interviews and documentation. This ensures a more comprehensive understanding of the issues being studied. The findings reveal that Aqidah Akhlak teachers play a crucial role not only as instructors but also as Nanda Mukaromah, Jaenullah, Rina Mida Hayati, Peran Guru Akidah Akhlak dalam Membentuk Karakter Siswa yang Mandiri Kreatif Kelas VII di MTs Asa’adah Gunung SugihAl-Manar:Jurnal Komunikasi dan Pendidikan Islam -Volume 14, Nomor 1, Juni 202592educators and mentors who guide students in character development through habitual activities, extracurricular programs, and project-based learning. Character habituation is implemented through daily worship activities and moral studies, while students’ creativity is nurtured through art-based assignments and activities that facilitate the expression of creative ideas. However, the study also identifies several challenges, such as limited time and inadequate facilities, as well as external environmental influences that do not fully support character development. Despite these challenges, teachers and the madrasa head continue to seek solutions by enhancing teacher training and strengthening collaboration with parents to support the development of student creative character
