Pengaruh Dukungan Sosial Teman Sebaya Terhadap Stres Akademik Santri di Lingkungan Pondok Pesantren
This study is motivated by the high academic demands and religious activities within Islamic boarding school (pesantren) environments, which have the potential to cause academic stress among students (santri). Although students live in an intensive social environment, the effectiveness of peer social support in reducing academic stress still requires further investigation. This study aims to examine the effect of peer social support on academic stress among students in Islamic boarding schools. The method employed is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of 460 students, with a sample of 219 respondents determined using the Slovin formula, along with purposive and quota sampling techniques. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results indicate that peer social support has a negative and significant effect on academic stress, meaning that the higher the level of social support received by students, the lower their level of academic stress. Peer social support also contributes to academic stress, although other factors still influence it. Thus, it can be concluded that peer social support plays an important role in reducing academic stress among students in Islamic boarding schools.
