Sihir Dalam Kisah Nabi Musa (Studi Tafsir Anwar Al- Tanzil Wa Asrar Al –Ta’wil Karya Al- Baidawi)

2025 · Book · Koleksi Perpustakaan

This study examines the concept of magic in the story of Prophet Musa as interpreted by Al-Baidawi in his tafsir Anwār al-Tanzīl wa Asrār al-Ta’wīl, focusing on verses related to magic in Surah Ṭāhā. The objective is to explore Al-Baidawi’s understanding of the nature of magic, its distinction from miracles, and its theological and moral implications within the narrative of Prophet Musa. Employing a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative approach, this research analyzes verses 65–70 of Surah Ṭāhā, which depict the confrontation between the magicians of Pharaoh and the miracle of Musa. The findings reveal that, according to Al-Baidawi, magic constitutes a perceptual manipulation that deceives the human eye, whereas a miracle is a direct manifestation of divine power. Magic is classified as a major sin and an act of disbelief (kufr) due to its association with shirk (polytheism), and it has both physical and psychological effects, as illustrated by Musa’s fear upon witnessing the magicians’ illusions. These insights remain relevant in modern contexts, particularly in addressing manipulative mystical practices and psychological phenomena linked to contemporary forms of magic. The practical implications of this study include strengthening Islamic education, legal regulation of occult practices, and the application of Islamic psychology to address disturbances caused by negative suggestion. Moreover, it highlights the importance of cultivating critical awareness of modern mysticism while reinforcing belief in Allah as the sole source of true power.
