Implementasi Metode Halaqoh untuk Minat dan Pemahaman Santri Terhadap Kitab Fathul Qorib di Pondok Pesantren Al Hikmah Bandar Lampung
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the halaqah method in improving students’ interest and understanding of the book Fathul Qorib at Al-Hikmah Islamic Boarding School in Bandar Lampung. The background of this research is based on the importance of effective learning methods in the study of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), as traditional methods such as bandongan often result in limited student participation during the learning process. The halaqah method is considered a more dialogical and participatory approach because it encourages direct interaction between teachers and students through discussion, question-and-answer sessions, and collaborative study of the text. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of teachers (ustadz), pesantren administrators, and students who participated in the learning of Fathul Qorib. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The implementation of the halaqah method in this study involved four main stages: reading the text, translating the meaning, understanding the content, and presenting arguments in an academic discussion forum. These stages were designed to enhance students’ active participation in the learning process. The results show that the implementation of the halaqah method significantly improves students’ interest and understanding of Fathul Qorib. This can be seen from students’ increased attention during learning activities, active participation in questioning and discussions, and their ability to explain the content of the book more comprehensively. Furthermore, the halaqah method creates a more interactive and communicative learning environment, enabling students not only to understand the text literally but also to relate fiqh concepts to real-life contexts
