Analisi Perbedaan Motifasi Belajar Pada Siswa Yang Tinggal Di Asrama Dan Tidak Tinggal Di Asrama Dalam Aspek Sosial Di MAN 1 Lampung Timur
The boarding school program is implemented in accordance with the curriculum established by the national education department, as well as agreements with the foundation. It is designed and developed by providing dormitory facilities as a place for students to reside, hence it is known as a boarding school system. Based on the results of an interview with a guidance and counseling (BK) teacher, it was found that students who live in dormitories have high enthusiasm (motivation) in carrying out activities. In contrast, some students who live outside the dormitory show low discipline some are frequently late, passive during learning activities, and only a few achieve academic success.The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of social support on the learning motivation of students living in dormitories and those living outside the dormitories, as well as to identify the level of learning motivation in both groups. This research uses a quantitative method. The study was conducted at MAN 1 East Lampung, starting in January 2025 until completion. The population in this study consisted of 936 students. The sample included 110 students living in dormitories and 110 students living outside the dormitories.Based on the data presented, it was found that the relationship between social support and group status (boarding and non boarding) simultaneously with learning motivation falls into a strong category. Social support and residential status have a significant effect on students’ learning motivation.
